Relevant Events of the Year

  • Entrance into the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Emerging Markets and Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile: Aguas Andinas joined the Dow Jones Sustainability Index for Emerging Markets, making it one of three Chilean companies entering this reputed indicator in 2015. This indicator measures the performance of the top 10% of each industry. The Company also entered the Dow Jones Sustainability Index Chile, the first sustainability index of the Santiago Stock Exchange, which included only 12 companies in the country.
  • The customer at the center: With the launch of the 2015-2020 Client Strategy, Aguas Andinas began developing major initiatives with a focus on its clients and the city of Santiago.
  • Efficient tariffs, maintained over time: In 2015 the new tariff period began for Aguas Andinas, which kept tariffs for clients constant in real terms. Note that these values are among the lowest in Chile and the world.
  • Historic investment: 127 billion pesos was Aguas Group’ investment in 2015, making it the second year with increased investment in the Company’s recent history. The investment plan focused on investments in potable water production and distribution and increasing the capacity of the El Trebal-Mapocho sewage treatment plant.
  • Effective drought management: Even though the Santiago Basin experienced its sixth consecutive year of drought, the supply of potable water is ensured for all inhabitants of the Metropolitan Region, thanks to Aguas Andinas’ efficient management, investments, and a coordinated effort with stakeholders of the Maipo River.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • Greater autonomy: Thanks to a strong investment, we have raised the potable water reserves of Gran Santiago, elevating the autonomy of the system from 6 to 9 hours.
  • Good drought management: For the fifth consecutive year, we have successfully, and comprehensively, managed the lack of rain in the Santiago Basin, assuring a supply of potable water to all its inhabitants.
  • Culmination of the Tariff Regulation Process 2015-2020: An agreement was achieved with the SISS in order to maintain company rates/tariffs in real terms, which will stimulate our operational efficiency.
  • External Recognition: In 2014 we were recognized by several different corporate rankings, such as: Procalidad, Universidad de Los Andes' innovative companies, PROhumana and the Merco Index of corporate reputation.
  • Advances in the Crime Prevention Model: In 2014, the implementation of the work done by the legal team of Aguas Andinas, has begun.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • Mudslides in the Maipo River and fracturing of the matrix at the start of the year, which tested us transversally to reestablish supplies quickly.
  • Launch of the Ariete project, which seeks to introduce improvements in all the emergencies management procedures, including the construction of security works to ensure the continuity of supplies.
  • Successful placement of bonds for a total of UF 2.0 million in order to finance our company’s investments.
  • Coordinated work plan for facing the water shortage that affects the Metropolitan Region.
  • We granted financing to 96 projects with the competitive funds program, benefiting residents of the districts of Padre Hurtado, Maipú, Pudahuel and Tiltil.
  • More than 76,500 hours invested in the training of our employees.
  • 100% coverage of sewage treatment, thanks to the operation of the new Mapocho plant which places us at the level of the most developed world capitals.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • In March, Aguas Andinas was chosen among the 10 companies of greatest credibility in the Corporate Transparency Report prepared by the Universidad del Desarrollo.
  • In May, Aguas Andinas was distinguished as the company of greatest creation of value 2011 in the Large Caps category, by Banco Santander and Capital magazine.
  • In June, Aguas Andinas was awarded first place in the ranking EVA Business Performance 2012 prepared by Econsult and Qué Pasa magazine.
  • In June also, Aguas Andinas received the prestigious Best Company Prize, awarded by ICARE (Instituto Chileno de Administración Racional de Empresas), a Chilean business organization, being the highest distinction ever received by Aguas Andinas.
  • In October, DUOC UC awarded us the distinction of Human Capital for Chile 2012, for the contribution to the development of its students and technical-professional education in the country.
  • In November, the National Women’s Service (Servicio Nacional de la Mujer, SERNAM) distinguished us with the IGUALA seal for the incorporation of good labor practices in terms of equality of gender.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • New Shareholders: Following the sale by Corfo of most of its shares in our Company, new shareholders of good reputation entered during 2011, who have valued the knowledge we have of the sanitation sector.
  • Drought Committee Activated: A transversal committee of the different management areas, whose mission is to anticipate possible risks generated by a water shortage situation in the winter of 2012.
  • Standards That Distinguish Us: 100% water coverage, 98% in sewage and 86% in sewage treatment
  • Best Service Company: According to an image survey made by Adimark, the Aguas Group has been named as the best services company with the best historic results. 70% of those surveyed gave us a score of between 6 and 7 (out of 7)
  • 90% progress in Mapocho plant: With a total investment of 300 million dollars, Aguas Andinas is close to carry out its compromise of 100% sewage treatment in Metropolitan Region
  • Installation of Customer Strategic Plan (PEC)
  • Start-up of two modules of the Customers Strategic Plan, customer attention and work performance, which permit global and substantial improvements in the service provided to our customers.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • Clean Water in The Mapocho River: On March 30, we inaugurated the “Clean Urban Mapocho” Project, which decontaminates the river’s water during its flow through the city. A Bicentennial project that stands out as one of the country’s environmental milestones.
  • Top-Level Standards: 100% of potable water coverage, 98% in sewerage and 86% in sewage treatment.
  • Initiation of the Construction of the Mapocho Plant: This sewage treatment installation, which will be in operation in 2012, will permit us to comply with our commitment to decontaminate 100% of the wastewater generated in Greater Santiago.
  • Successful Bond Issue: Aguas Andinas achieved the lowest spread in history on its corporate bond issues on the Chilean market, reflecting the company’s financial strength.
  • New Controlling Partner: In June, Suez Environnement acquired 75% of Agbar, the company that holds 50.1% of the shares in Aguas Andinas through its participation in Inversiones Aguas Metropolitanas.
  • Fifth Tariff Process: In March, a new five-year tariff period commenced and will rule until February 2015.
  • Rapid Operating Response To The Earthquake: We maintained the continuity of our services to 95% of the clients in Santiago, whilst for the other 5% we re-established the service during the next few days

Relevant Events of the Year

  • Best rated. For the second year running, Aguas Andinas was rated the best basic services company according to the Image study undertaken by Adimark.
  • Standards that stand out 100% coverage in water. 97.87% in sewerage. 74.13% in sewage treatment.
  • Clean Urban Mapocho is almost a fact. With this, the Mapocho River, Santiago’s symbol, could unveil its decontaminated waters in 2010, Chile’s Bicentennial year.
  • CSP is initiated. Start-up of the Customer Strategic Plan, corporate plan for the next 3 years which implies a complete renewal of the computer platform that provides support to the customer service procedures, the incorporation of better practices and the consolidation of a corporate culture centered on the client.
  • Buin Maipo plant in operation. The Buin Maipo Sewage Treatment Plant came into operation. This plant decontaminates waste water from 55 thousand inhabitants.
  • Conclusion of the 5th setting of tariffs for Aguas Andinas. At year’s end, an agreement was reached with the Superintendence of Sanitation Services to cover the five-year period from 2010 to 2015.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • By means of the acquisition of 53.5% of its property, control of Empresa de Servicios Sanitarios de Los Lagos (ESSAL) was obtained.
  • Merger by absorption of the subsidiaries Aguas Cordillera S.A. and Aguas Los Dominicos S.A. (the former of the latter).
  • The Clean Urban Mapocho Project advanced by 37%. The first Virtual Commercial Branch of the Group was created.

Relevant Events of the Year

  • We initiated the construction works on the Clean Urban Mapocho Project on the approval of the Environmental Impact Study.
  • We renewed the ISO 9000, ISO 14000 and OHSAS 18000 for all the sanitation plants and all the scope of their activities, becoming the first sanitation company in the country to receive, jointly, all three certifications on its installations.
  • We carried out the merger of Commercial Orbi II S.A. and Aguas Cordillera S.A., taking a further step in the corporate simplification of the Group.
